South West in Bloom
As Chair of the Floral Crediton Working Group, I am delighted to announce that the town has been entered into the South West in Bloom Competition. This came about because a judge of the competition happened to be driving through Crediton last year and saw the lovely floral displays in and around the town and suggested that we entered the competition this year.
Judging is expected to take place during the afternoon of 18 July. This is a wonderful opportunity for the town to come together as a community and show the judges what Crediton is all about and for everyone in the town to work together.
I sincerely hope that as many of the community as possible will work together to make this a time to remember. We have very little time to make the town look its best, but with hard work, we can do it.
I hope to organise a meeting of volunteers to see what needs to be done so, if anyone is interested in helping, they can contact me at the Council Offices.
Floral Crediton Competition
I would also like to bring your attention to the Floral Crediton Competition 2011. This year the categories have been increased with the hope that more people than ever will enter. This is a great opportunity for all keen gardeners to show off all their hard work. As I go around the town I see so many beautiful floral displays and I wish that they would enter. Well, now is your opportunity, particularly as we are entered into South West in Bloom, make this the icing on the cake and win a prize.
Application forms can be obtained from the Council Offices and the Crediton Courier. You will also be able to obtain forms at the regular Farmers Markets and other locations throughout the town. Last date for entry is 8 July 2011.
